Hawaiian Grill Recipes

The kalua, literally meaning cooking underground, generally uses pork meat. The traditional method of cooking involved using hot rocks in a pit lined with banana leaves. Present day kalua consists of any pork meat, seasoned with salt and wrapped with the ti leaves, which is slowly smoked. The kalua pig is often served at Luau- Hawaiian feasts.
